How Do I apply for the PMLexis examination?
The National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners (NBPME) administers these exams in order to assess an individual s fitness to practice podiatric medicine. The NBPME Part I and Part II are used by most states, some Canadian provinces and foreign countries for this purpose. Each examination is described below: Part I Taken after completion of the candidate s second year of study. It samples the candidate s knowledge in the basic science areas of General Anatomy, Lower Extremity Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Physiology. OCPM students must take and pass the Part I exam in order to graduate from the College. Part II Generally taken near the completion of the candidate s final year of study. It samples the candidates knowledge in the clinical areas of Community Health-Jurisprudence, Dermatology, General Medicine, Orthopedics/Biomechanics, Podiatric Medicine, Radiology and Surgery-Anesthesia-Hospital Protocol.
