How do I apply for a Portuguese Passport? Are there any forms available online for the application?
It is not somthing like applying for Indian Passport IP where you fill in some forms etc and you get your passport in 4-8 weeks time. Portuguese passport PP is a long process and it can take up to 3-4 years or more depending upon the individual case. e.g. if you were born before 1961 Your parrents first register their (1) birth then their (2) marriage followed by (3)your birth Each case above takes minimum of 6 months max upto 18. You need to take all your parents birth/marriage/your birth certificates, if in English, they need to be translated into Portuguese and one it is done then it need to be attested by Portuguese Consulate in Goa (Which itself can take up to 6 months). Once you do all this then you have to appoint an agent or advocate who deals with this type of services, you will have to give him power of attorney to deal on your behalf in Portuguese. Once you get your Billet (National ID card), you can then apply Portuguese passport in Goa Consulate which can take about 2-3 mo
