How do I apply for a permit to possess raptors and practice falconry?
If you live in a state that allows the practice of falconry, you must submit an appropriate application. You will need to submit the completed application form, which may be available from your state agency (http://offices.fws.gov/statelinks.html) that oversees falconry permits or from our regional Migratory Bird Permit Office (http://permits.fws.gov/mbpermits/addresses.html) depending on your state of residence; proof that you have passed the falconry test administered by the state in which you live; and proof that your facilities have been inspected and meet the facilities standards. Details for applying and additional requirements for the different permit levels are given in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 50, Chapter 1, Part 21, Sections 28 and 29.
