The majority of 1+3 and +3 awards have been allocated to departments which currently have ESRC 1+3 / +3 recognition. These departments are guaranteed a fixed number of awards by the ESRC and they have responsibility for selecting a nominee for each Nomination (Quota) place and informing the ESRC of their chosen student. For Nomination (Quota) awards you should apply directly to a course of your choice and not to the ESRC. Nomination forms are only available through departments with ESRC Nomination (Quota) awards, although you may be asked to complete a university application form as part of its selection process.
