Once you have received a planning approval, and you wish to amend your approved plans or any other minor component of your approval, then you will need to complete and submit a form to Council requesting a minor amendment to the planning permit. These applications are known as a Section 56 application because Section 56 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 provides the powers to Council to entertain an amendment. Any amendment of the permit must be done prior to the submission of a building application. The building application will be delayed while the amendment is dealt with or if the amendment is not approved the building application will be rejected. There is a $62.50 fee for the making of an application to amend a permit. From the 1st July 2010 that fee will be charged at the time that the application is made.
