How do I answer phone professionally?
I always just quickly glance at the clock to check if it’s before or after noon then answer, why wait for it to ring. “Good (morning/afternoon) XYZ, this is Melissa speaking” I some times follow it with “how can I help you” depends how busy I am. However, if you’re not the one taking the initial call but it has been put though to you I would simply say “This is Melissa, how can I help you” or if you’re really busy a simple “Melissa speaking” is also acceptable. EDIT – Do you mean how to answer your mobile or home phone on a daily basis?
