From my experience, no. I always get an error message when networked and I try to open the same file that my production artist has open. Maybe it’s possible with Version Cue but I haven’t really delved into that. You could always work on separate files and copy and paste pages in a master. If you’re interested in using Version Cue, here’s a tutorial from Adobe. Their example is creating a CD label in a collaborative manner. You can follow the steps to set up Version Cue though.
