How Do I Allow ipMonitor Access to Remote Windows Services?
When communicating with a remote Windows® NT/2K/XP/2003 workstation or server, ipMonitor will use the Credentials defined to connect to the remote machine. If no Credentials are specified, ipMonitor will use the current account privileges of the ipMonitor Service. You may need to specify a separate monitoring Credential in certain situations; for example, in the case of monitoring a Service running under the local system, or when running ipMonitor under a low-privileged account. This may require modification of local security policies on the ipMonitor host machine. Consult the corporate security policies and regulations of your organization before making any changes. For more in-depth information on configuring a Credential for use with Windows® NT/2K/XP/2003 Services, refer to the Credentials section in the Context-Sensitive help accessible from the ipMonitor web interface.
