(Editor’s Note: We continue to get questions from developers and resellers about using this somewhat hidden feature so we thought it was worth repeating from a previous issue. This feature is valid for both our KIPP Toolkits and Ascent Capture products.) The Bell+Howell scanner sometimes causes an image to be shifted during scanning. This can result in a black border on one side or the other of scanned images and possible data loss on the other side. Options that shift the scan to the left or right in small increments and that remove the black border are now available for the Scan Option setting. For ImageControls and Ascent customers, make the changes below in the KOFAX.INI file. For our KIPP Developers Toolkit customers, this can be done via the menu option in v2.12 or via inserting the new parameters in the LOADPRIM section of ENGINE1.CMD file in the \KIPP\DRIVER directory e.g. LOADPRIM SCANNER BH3338 BACK -50 BB_REM. The following options can be specified: BB_REM Enables black bord
