How do I advertise myself to teach the piano to children?
Teaching is a great way to further your capabilities, help other people learn and also earn good money! I teach piano and my advice to you would be to sit your grade 6 ABRSM exam (if you haven’t already done that) and gain a certificate so you are able to say that you have some sort of qualification. I have a degree in music, but to be honest, nobody has ever asked what qualifications i have. I think because of your age, people may wonder if you’re good or not, so that’s why i’d advise you to get some sort of exam certificate you are able to show them. Being a good teacher comes with years of doing it, but you have to start sometime and i see no reason why your age should be a problem at the moment. Advertise in your local music shop – perhaps charging a bit less than the average going rate may get you more pupils. Good luck.
