METHOD 2 for Patio Door Adjustments (for doors manufactured 1988-1991) Horizontal Adjustment – The hinges have a horizontal adjustment range of 9/32″. They are factory set at the midpoint of this range. STEP 1: Close the door and check for interference between the unit frame members and the active panel. If the clearance is not equal or there is interference, the active panel should be adjusted. The active panel must be open in order to access the horizontal adjustment screws during the horizontal adjustment procedure. STEP 2: Using a 5/32″ hex wrench, loosen the position fixing screws on the upper and middle hinges 2-4 full turns. Do not remove the set screws from the hinge. STEP 3: Insert 5/32″ hex wrench in horizontal adjustment screws of the upper hinge. To increase clearance at lock jamb, turn horizontal adjustment screw clockwise in upper hinge.
