How do i add my new laptop to my existing wireless network?
Assuming you’re running Windows with the wireless card’s driver loaded, and your default settings are to get all network settings by DHCP from your wireless router. Actually Linux works almost identically. Turn on the wireless card if necessary. On a Dell, enabling and disabling is done by holding down the blue Fn key while pushing F2. Click the wireless connectivity icon [probably in the right-hand bottom tray – otherwise from your menu selection]. Survey the available routers – which will include your router by name. Click on yours to highlight and then click on the connect button. Provide any security type and password information [if not a simple open connection]. Allow up to 60 seconds for the connection to complete. Good luck!
