How do I add an initiative or referendum to the ballot during the student General Election?

Both initiatives and referenda can be added to the ballot; however a different process must be taken for each. To add an initiative, a petition signed by 10% of the student body must be submitted to the ASPSU President at least two weeks prior to the election. Unlike an initiative, a referendum must come from the Student Senate and requires a two-thirds majority vote in favor. The wording of both initiatives and referenda must be approved by the Judicial Board.
