How do I activate or deactivate synergyd?
There are a number of options that you can set in the Synergy Advance “General” preference pane that you can use to control when and how synergyd is launched (or not launched). If you have chosen “Auto-launch Synergy Advance when iTunes is launched” in the Synergy Advance preferences then synergyd will be added to your login items and will run automatically whenever you login. Whenever you launch iTunes, synergyd will also cause Synergy Advance to launch. When you quit Synergy Advance synergyd will continue running in the background and watching for when iTunes launches. You can prevent this behaviour by unchecking the “Auto-launch Synergy Advance when iTunes is launched”. When you uncheck this option synergyd will be removed from your login items. Another option that you will find in the Synergy Advance preferences is “Launch Synergy Advance at login”.
