Oracle Portal leverages the high availability features of Oracle Application Server 10g and the Oracle database. Because state is stored in the database and through cookies, a session will persist across any failure except for closing the browser. Oracle Portal is compatible with all the high availability mechanisms provided within the Oracle Application Server, these include, Cold Failover Clusters, Active Failover Clusters, and Disaster Recovery.
