• Use the Apple Software Synth • Go to DP’s Setup menu > Interapplication MIDI • Check the box for “Software Synthesizer” • Select the resolution at which you’d like the sounds to render. If you’re just using the Quicktime GM sounds as a “scratch pad” or a quick reference, try the lower resolutions. • Go to Project > Add Track > MIDI Track. • Assign the output of this MIDI track to any of the 16 channels of “Apple Software Synth”. • You will hear this MIDI track’s output from the hardware device you have selected for “Default Output” under Audio MIDI Setup.
