How do I access the federal and state regulations for nursing homes?
You can access the state and the federal regulations for long-term care facilities by accessing the department of Health website at www.health.state.pa.us Once on our website, you will find a link in the upper left hand corner of your screen entitled, “Health Topics A-Z” Click on that link and scroll down the list of health topics until you come to “Nursing Home Information” and click. Another screen will pop up and you will need to scroll until you see the link, “Long Term Care Regulations” Once you click on this link, the state regulations for nursing homes can be found on the Chapter 211 link under the Pennsylvania Code section. Clicking on the second link under Federal Nursing Home Regulations, State Operations Manual Appendix PP – Guidance to Surveyors for LTCFs, will access the federal regulations.
