How do human personality traits have an affect on the personality and temperament of pets?

I think the personality of the human sets the stage for the temperment of the pet. Animals sense so much of our emotional state and they react to it. I’ll tell you the story of Katie, the French Poodle….. I was cleaning house for a wealthy doctor and his wife. Although they were quite nice people, they were very paranoid about security…you could feel tension if a stranger came to their door. Their standard Poodle, Katie, was one of the meanest dogs I’ve ever met. It had bitten the neighbors, salesmen…and used to give me a rough time, trying to clean around her. The time came when the wealthy family was going to travel abroad for 6 months…they were just going to put Katie to sleep, like an inconvenience…get rid of her… Well, being soft hearted about animals, I offered to adopt her…wondering if I’d get home in one piece with this nasty beast in my car. When Katie moved into our house, her personality totally changed. She was still a good watchdog but she became great around
