How Do Home Schoolers Obtain a High School Diploma?
Home School Basics Home schooling is the educating of a grade school aged child outside of the normal public or private school systems. Home schooling is usually carried out by a stay at home parent, but the education often does not take place exclusively in the home. Home schooling provides a great deal of flexibility in a curriculum, which allows parents to tailor courses toward a child’s skills, interests and often the values of the family. Home schooling is most common at younger ages of grade school, since parents will have all the necessary knowledge to teach things like reading and basic math. Some parents decide to home school their children through high school, which usually requires much more planning, structure and help from outside sources like textbooks, and home school curriculum packages.
