How do Giant Pandas get their food?

0

The Giant Panda eats bamboo, while living in dense forests where bamboo grows all the time. The only time they need to really seek out a fresh stand of bamboo, is when the species they have been feeding on finally blooms out. Then they will have to forge far into other areas of the forest until they find another stand of bamboo large enough to sustain them for an extended period of time. The bamboo bloom is generational, occurring about every 20 to 40 years, not seasonal so luckily the Giant Panda doesn’t have to go through this process often. The migration is dangerous due to habitat fragmentation, and there is no promise of finding a bamboo forest close enough, that isn’t the territory of other Pandas already.
