How do GERBER® GOOD START® formulas differ from other infant formula brands?

1

GERBER® is the first and only manufacturer of 100% whey protein, partially hydrolyzed formula in the U.S. market. Partially hydrolyzed formulas are different from whole-protein-based formulas, such as Similac® and Enfamil®, in which the proteins remain intact and have not been broken down. Intact cow’s milk proteins are more likely to trigger sensitization and allergy6 than hydrolyzed proteins1,2,11,14-18 but both intact cow’s milk formulas and partially hydrolyzed 100% whey formulas are meant for routine use. Extensively hydrolyzed milk-based specialty formulas (such as Nutramigen®, Pregestimil® and Alimentum®) are most often used for very sensitive infants who cannot tolerate any routine formulas. Partially hydrolyzed formulas, such as GERBER® GOOD START® Gentle PLUS™ , are routine formulas for general use in all healthy infants. They are not intended to treat infants who are allergic to milk. The easily digested 100% whey protein in GOOD START® milk-based formulas is partially hydro
