How do General Ledger numbers get tracked in IO?
General ledger account codes are created from up to four components: an entity code, a department code, a class code, and an expense code. You can use any or all of these components. The type of accounting application you use determines the codes you enter. You will assign components of general ledger account codes at three levels: organizational units, products, and products at specific locations. Links from the Administration, Products, and Inventory options allow you to create and maintain general ledger account codes as well. These GL codes will be displayed on various reports to facilitate your accounting procedures.
