“Gay” in Thailand has very little to do with Thai ladyboys. Thai gays are very much into being “men” and “gayness” in Thailand is looked upon with much more favor than transvestism/transsexuality/katoeys, et. al. You will see openly-gay men working in banks in Thailand, for instance. NEVER will you see a ladyboy in any such relatively prestigious job.
