Gastropods obtain food by crawling around and looking for it. When they find it, they use their radula (sharp teathlike structures that rotate) to scrape food off of things. For example, if a gastropod finds some algae on a rock, they will use radula to scrape the algae off the rock. Gastropods do not chew they scrape things off and digest it.
