How do exchange teachers travel throughout their communities?
Host schools are expected to have a plan in place for how exchange teachers can commute to and from school, as well as to conduct normal errands. Exchange teachers are educated and professional adults who enjoy being able to independently meet their transportation needs through either public transportation or short walks if their housing is strategically located. These approaches are not always available in communities throughout the country, and many successful exchange experiences have occurred because so many people were involved throughout the school community helping facilitate transportation.
