How do electromagnetic waves diffre from soung waves and water waves?
Electromagnetic waves are light, radio, UV, infra-red, gamma, micorwaves and go at the speed of light 186,000 miles per second (although they go a bit slower in matter). The waves themselves consist of vibrating electric and magnetic fields. Probably you know a few uses for these. For example, our eyes pick up EM waves and that allows us to *see*. Sound waves are pressure waves in some material. Their speed depends on the material. Sounds goes through air at about 700 miles per hour. This is considerable slower than light. These are the waves that our ears hear. Water waves are what you see on the surface of water when you throw a stone into the water. These go a *lot* slower even than sound waves.
