How do Edinburghs hop-on and off bus tours work?
You can get off the bus at any of the numerous stops along the way, explore the places in detail then get back on the tour bus. A knowledgeable tour guide is present on some of the tour buses to give a live account of every Edinburgh sight and attraction on the itinerary. All other bus tours have a recorded multi-lingual commentary available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Japanese. The buses used for tours are double deckers and because they are open-top, with no dirty windows to obstruct the views, they give you a unique perspective over Edinburgh’s most famous landmarks and sights. Edinburgh bus tours leave from Waverley Bridge, just outside Waverley train station. Covering the entire itinerary takes approx 60 minutes. The best way to use these tours is to get a general first impression of the city’s attractions and sights and then return to the most interesting ones to explore in detail on a tour of your own.
