How do dolphins and killer whales communicate?
Whales and dolphins communicate through sight, sound, body movement and touch. They get the attention of other whales and dolphins by breaching or slapping the water’s surface with their tail flukes or pectoral flippers. Whales and dolphins are also capable of producing a wide variety of sounds that scientists believe are a form of communication. There is no evidence, however, that any species of whales or dolphins uses anything resembling human language.
