How do dogs hear?
Dogs hear the same way as almost any other mammal.. But, a dog’s hearing range is approximately 40 Hz to 60,000 Hz. Dogs can detect sounds as low as 16-20 Hz, and as high as 45 kHz. About 20 muscles are responsible for ear movement, which helps them pinpoint the exact location of a sound. Also, dogs can identify sounds much faster than humans can, as well as hear sounds up to 4 times the distance that a human could. Dogs with erect ears, like a German Shepherd or Siberian Husky, generally have better hearing than dogs with floppy ears.
