How do different types of computers “talk” to each other?
There are many different types of computers connected to the Internet. Normally these different types of computers can’t “talk” to each other very easily. They can’t share information. But on the Net they can. This is because of protocols that determine how all computers on the Internet should talk to one another. A protocol is just a standard way of doing things. As long as a computer adheres to Internet protocols, it can communicate with any other computer on the Internet.
