How do departments pay for parking validations?
Validation tickets have no cash value and charges do not apply until a visitor has redeemed the validation ticket. The validation system will charge back the exact amount of parking used by the visitor (according to the guidelines set up by each department). This is different from the previous token system which charged the “flat fee” of $5.00 regardless of how much parking was actually used. Each month, Parking Services will calculate the parking charges that were validated for each account during the previous month. That information will then be submitted to the department contact and the charges will be placed against the account.
