How do Dance Gavin Dance allocate random titles to songs?
Will: We name the songs… we always name the songs without vocals and all the songs have names in pre-production. Matt: Just like temporary… Will: And then after that, we rename the songs when there’s vocals on them Matt: But some stick. Some stay that we randomly named, and then some, actually we try to be a little bit ironic maybe, as far as on Happiness, the title track “Happiness” is like, the opposite – the most depressing song on the record! Or we just like to be weird or random Will: Yeah, so sometime it makes sense, and sometimes it doesn’t, but even if it doesn’t, it could have made sense before, when there was no vocals!
