How do CSC students fare on provincial exams and other standardized test situations?

Children in grades 1 to 6 at the CSC write Edmonton’s yearly Highest Level of Achievement Tests (HLAT) in reading and writing, as well as the Alberta government’s achievement tests in Grade Three and Grade Six. Since these tests are to assess the group and not the individual children, we are able to learn from the information how well each cohort of students is doing in comparison to their age group counter parts. Recently we compared data from Provincial Achievement Test’s from Spring 2002 to Spring 2005 with those from other children in the Province.
