How do cows make milk?
Cows do not magically create milk. They create it for their babies just like any other mammal. They will keep producing for about 5-6 years if they are milked regularly. In the dairy industry, they will then be artificially inseminated so they can produce more milk for human consumption. Their babies will either become dairy cows (if female) or often veal calves (if male). When cows eat grass they chew and it goes in the stomach, then they spit it up, chew it again and then it becomes milk! (Disgusting right?
