How do compounds get out of the body and into the bath water?
The presence of a powerful stream of ions in a Tranquil Detox bath exerts a drawing power on the body through the skin much like a poultice. The skin pores of the feet are the largest in the human body and are a natural place for the elimination of wastes. The warmth of the bath water opens the skin pores and the ions then draw out the waste products and toxins. We call this process reverse iontophoresis.
