How do colleges get ranked higher and make the leaderboard?
Short story: The more good ratings a college gets from different users, the higher it is ranked. The leaderboard shows the top colleges for each category. Each country and state has its own leaderboard. Long story: Vast Rank bases it ranking algorithm on a Bayesian formula that weights rankings based on the average and total number of votes. The more votes a college has from different people, the more certain we are the ranking is correct. For example if a college is rated a 10 in Academics by one person but another college is rated a 9 for Academics by 100 people, the College rated as a 9 by 100 people will rank higher.
