How Do COBRA Benefits Work?
COBRA stands for “Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act” and provides the right to temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates. This law requires that employers extend health care benefits to their employees under certain circumstances like job loss, involuntary termination, layoffs and voluntary terminations, a reduction in hours, divorce, death, or Medicare eligibility.
