You are close. It is Roman Catholicism that has ripped of Mithraism. Catholicism is not Christian, it is paganism with a Christian facade. the early church never practice the paganistic customs found in Christianity today. However, this was all prophesied in the Bible. This is something that atheists and fellow Christians do not understand. Second coming Christ has come to restore all truth as prophesied in the Bible.
