How do chloramines affect fish?
Like chlorine, chloramines are toxic to fish because they pass through the gills of the fish and directly enter their bloodstream. Chloramines, just like chlorine must be removed from any water used in fish tank, aquarium or pond. Effective treatments include using granular-activated carbon filters and using chemicals specifically designed to remove chloramines.
