How do charter schools acquire facilities?
North Carolina charter schools must pay for their facilities with funds from the operating budget. Charter schools do not receive any capital funds for facilities, land, and/or construction. Therefore, the Pine Lake Preparatory Board has been working on development of the site and the school campus for over a year. Capital Fundraising and bonds are other ways in which Pine Lake Prep can secure funding for building the schools, multi-purpose room, library, and other needed facilities, including parking lots and soccer fields.
