I am convinced they have some very sophisticated means of communication. Ages ago, I had a cat who got bit by a snake and lived. She raised and taught to hunt another cat who belonged to a neighbor. She managed to teach this one to be FREAKED out about anything resembling a snake. My cat died and a couple weeks later the neighbor’s cat had kittens. She taught those kittens to be FREAKED out by anything resembling snakes. I got one of the male kittens, and when he grew up, he helped me raise another female kitten. This third “generation” kitten did not learn to be so scared of snake-like things, I think because the information of _why_ they should be scared got lost. Or maybe momma (adoptive or otherwise) cats are better at teaching those things to kittens than adoptive daddy cats are. The male cat had some health problems, and had to be put on special food. He did not like it, and for a couple days refused to eat, even after I had gradually mixed the new food into the old food. One day
