How do Burst and Mystic Artes work?
Burst Artes can be activated from any level of Overlimit and gain power at levels 2 and 3. Activate an Arcane or Altered Arte or an Intermediate or higher spell and hold the Arte button (the default is A). If the Arte connects, youll activate your Burst Arte. Burst Artes can also be altered based on skills equipped; if more than one set of skills is equipped, whichever set comes first on the skill list takes priority. Elemental Burst Artes can never be learned. Which element is used depends on the skills equipped, listed in priority order: Hell Fire & Chain = Fire Athenor & Crucible = Earth Gale & Alembic = Wind Great Deluge & Dispersion = Water For Mystic Artes, equip the Special skill (see below). In battle, enter level 3 or 4 Overlimit. Activate an Arcane, Altered, or Burst Arte (or an Intermediate or higher spell) and hold the attack button (default is B). If it connects, you will perform a devastating Mystic Arte. Sadly, each character only has one Mystic Arte.
