How do Buddhists practice their religion? ?
There are many traditions within Buddhism (just like there are many traditions within Christianity) and each tradition has its own unique practices. Common practices within most traditions – the kinds of activities you’d be likely to find if you went to a temple – include: – Chanting – Meditation – Formal talk (like a sermon) – Offering of flowers, food, or money – Bowing In many temples, people come and go throughout a practice period. It can be fairly relaxed in these temple. In other temples, such as in the Zen tradition, the schedule is tighter and everything starts on time and people stay until it’s over. Most temples offer a way for newcomers to join in the practice and people understand that a newcomer won’t know what to do.
