How do Buddhists believe we got here?
Yes, most Buddhists are nontheists. Buddhists specifically deny a creator god, but they may be agnostic about other gods. There are also certain Mahayana sects who believe in past, present, and future Buddhas and bodhisattvas, and some of these are prayed to like saints. The True Pure Land sect, specifically, believes that if they have faith in the Buddha Amida that they can be saved. In that sense, the Buddha Amida is like a god. As far as I know, most Buddhists accept the scientific theories for why we’re here.
Buddha did NOT believe in a God. There are sects of Buddhism that believe in Gods. Most people give false information based on what they learned from individuals who did not know what they were talking about. Just like every Religion or Group, after so many years, the beliefs begin to differ from the original and after 2500 years, it was inevitable that exaggerations would occur. However, people will still believe what they want and not study the oldest texts of the Buddha. The Pali Canon. Buddha said that everything always was and always will be. Our energy will be turned into something else which was dependent on us existing and for us to exist, we were dependent on something before us. Always was, always will be.
