How do breast implants affect breast self-examination?
Implants do change the physiology of the breast so we suggest that women with implants have their health care provider show them how to do a breast self-exam. An added advantage to the breast self-examination would be that a woman with implants may be able to detect rupture/leakage in the implant by looking for changes in size, shape, consistency or a new lump.
