How do BOSE Acoustimass speakers and home theater systems really compare to high quality speakers like Polk Audio?
Bose has an outstanding marketing department and is easy to set up. I personally and many others on any audiophile site warn most people to stay away from their Acoustimass systems and their direct reflecting speakers,(the outdoor speakers are okay if a little expensive). They are regarded as overpriced and as having poor performance in the high and low audio range, emphasizing the mid range. There are many speakers costing a third of the price with better performance.
