How do belly button piercings get infected?

0

Most professionally (i.e. sterile) pierced, infected piercings are caused by touching the piercing with dirty hands. So stay away from that at all costs. Infections can also be caused by improper cleaning. If the piercing is done unprofessionally (i.e nonsterile), then that is likely the culprit. You CAN NOT have your navel pierced at Clairs or Icing. Those places use piercing guns and not only are piercing guns dangerous to use (even on ears quite frankly) it’s straight up illegal to use them on anything but the ears! You need to go to a professional piercing shop where they use sterile piercing needles. Typically, most places will not numb you, but you don’t really need it. The numbing agent would only numb the outermost layer of skin so basically you’d still feel most of the piercing. But honestly, the piercing itself only takes seconds. You’ll barely be able to register the pain before it’ll be over. So don’t worry about that.
