How do avoid such high cap penalties in NFL Head Coach 09?
Let the biggest ones go. Yeah, there will be a penalty, but the penalty usually isn’t as big as the player’s cap number. Be sure to sign smaller contracts, and also try to restructure contracts of some of your current players. Why sign players only to trade them away? Why sign them at all if you’re going to do that? Just don’t sign them, and let them go. Unrealistic as it is, EA designed every player to ask for more, regardless of success or skill. I don’t care much for EA’s offseason model. It forces you to build through free agency instead of the draft, which is how the real NFL teams do it. Good luck.
