How Do ATM Cards Work?
ATM cards allow you to withdraw money from your checking account by using one of the thousands of ATM machines across the country. This is helpful for people who need access to their money even when the bank is closed (like on weekends, holidays, or in the evenings). You can get an ATM card when you first open your checking account, or you can get one later. To get one, you must apply online at www.cubbank.com or at any CUB branch location. You will be given a Personal Identification Number (called a PIN#) to access your account. This four-number code will be the code you enter into the ATM machine each time you use your card. Once you receive your PIN number, you should memorize it or keep it in a secret place. You don’t want to write it on your card or even keep it with your card. Once you have filled out an application for a debit card, the card and PIN will be mailed directly to your home address, separately, within 4 days of each other.
