SGFT is available in Standard 8W Series which provides no fire rating or in 8WC PR Series which gives a one (1) hour fire rating for a 4″ wall. The fire rated units are priced so high as to be noncompetitive with ASTRA-GLAZE-SW® + units. [Note: Standard 4″ ASTRA-GLAZE-SW® + units give one (1) hour fire rating. Standard 8″ ASTRA-GLAZE-SW® + units give (2) hour fire rating. Standard 12″ ASTRA-GLAZE-SW® + units give a three (3) hour fire rating.] Standard 8W SGFT units are competitive with ASTRA-GLAZE-SW® + units in the 2″ and 4″ thicknesses but are much higher priced in 6″ and 8″ thicknesses (and in the fire rated units mentioned above) and are not available at all in 10″ or 12″ thicknesses.
